to moms and babies--

happy world breastfeeding week!!!

to celebrate, i wanted to point all in the direction of a giveaway at Educated Mama Decals. she is giving away a breastfeeding decal to one lucky winner at the end of the week. enter here: Educated Mama Decals. you can also check her out on facebook: Educated Mama Decals Facebook Page. i love her work, and my car is currently sporting some of her handicrafts. she does a fantastic job with her quality and the messages her decals convey!

to all who know that breast is best, i salute you!

i, too, am currently breastfeeding my nearly-six-month-old son, and plan to do extended breastfeeding. the myriad of health and developmental benefits are endless and are, without a doubt, the very best thing you can offer your child in these sweet early years of development. it improves immunity, brain development and function, continues to comfort our little ones, and so on. ideally, we'll be practicing child-led weaning. i am of the firm belief that as long as he desires to breastfeed, there is something that he needs that only the breast milk can offer. i will, as always, continue eating mostly-to-all organic (as we can afford), and anything my son eats when trying out even more solids (as he's been introduced to quite a few) will always be organic. i want the very best possible for his healthy development.

happy breastfeeding!
